Jamie Cohen

Jaime Cohen is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience in museums and classrooms. She taught in private religious schools in Pittsburgh, her hometown and was a docent at the New York Historical for 5 years. In 2020 she joined the staff of the Museum at Eldridge Street in New York City where she was the Director of Education. Jaime holds a BA from Brandeis University in sociology with a minor in art history and received an MA in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.
Rose Castillo
Aftercare
Ms. Rose is excited to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! A familiar face around TSP, she has five years of experience working with children and has helped in classrooms of every age group throughout the school. As the daughter of our beloved VPK teacher, Ms. Ana, Temple Shalom Preschool has always been a special place for her.
Ms. Rose is a dual enrollment student who balances her academics with a variety of extracurricular activities. She is a member of her school's color guard and is actively involved with The Immokalee Foundation, where she continues to develop leadership skills while giving back to the community. She has her required 45 hours with DCF.
Ms. Rose loves crafting and babysitting. In fact, she can never get enough time with her little preschool friends! Her genuine love for children shines through in everything she does, and she enjoys creating fun, engaging experiences that help them learn and grow.
One of Ms. Rose's greatest strengths is the meaningful relationships she builds—not only with the children, but with their families as well. She believes that strong partnerships between teachers and parents create the best possible environment for children to thrive.
Families appreciate Ms. Rose's maturity, responsibility, and go-getter attitude. She is dependable, compassionate, and always willing to step in wherever she is needed. Sophia Sandino
Aftercare
Ms. Sophia is excited to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! She is currently a dual enrollment student and brings four years of experience working with children through babysitting and positions at childcare facilities. Her experience includes working with children from Pre-K through 5th grade. She has her required 45 hours with DCF.
Ms. Sophia enjoys spending time at the beach, shopping, and making memories with her family. She is also heading into her fourth year as a member of her school's cheerleading squad, where she has developed teamwork, leadership, and school spirit.
Families should know that Ms. Sophia loves bringing positive energy into the classroom each day and creating a fun, welcoming environment for every child. She is passionate about helping children learn, grow, and build confidence while making meaningful connections with their classmates and teachers.
Ms. Sophia looks forward to being a positive role model and helping create a joyful learning experience for the children and families of Temple Shalom Preschool.
Emma Villalobos
Aftercare
Ms. Emma is excited to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! As a dual enrollment student, she brings enthusiasm, responsibility, and a strong work ethic to her role each day.
During aftercare, Ms. Emma assists in classrooms throughout the school, helping children and teachers across multiple age groups. Families often see her moving between classrooms and helping with dismissal, ensuring children get where they need to be safely and efficiently. Her willingness to jump in wherever help is needed makes her a valuable member of the TSP team.
Ms. Emma is certified in CPR and First Aid and is currently working toward completing her DCF training hours. She is dedicated to learning more about early childhood education and developing the skills needed to support children and families.
Temple Shalom Preschool has always been close to Ms. Emma's heart, as her mother, Ms. Janeth, has been a teacher at Temple Shalom Preschool over the years. Growing up around the school community has helped her develop a strong appreciation for the caring, family-focused environment that makes TSP so special.
Ms. Emma enjoys building relationships with the children and helping make each day run smoothly. Her positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to help wherever needed make her a wonderful addition to our preschool family. Janeth Novoa
Aftercare
Ms. Janeth is a wonderful part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! She brings seven years of experience in early childhood education and has worked with children in our Cubs, Lions, and VPK classrooms. Families may remember her as a daytime Cubs teacher before she transitioned into aftercare, where she continues to bring warmth, care, and joy to the children each day.
Ms. Janeth attended Loja University in Ecuador, where she earned her degree in Tourism Administration. She is currently working toward her CDA and is certified in CPR and First Aid.
Outside of school, Ms. Janeth enjoys watching sunsets and walking her dogs. TSP is truly a family affair for her, as she is also Ms. Emma’s mom!
Ms. Janeth loves the energy children bring into the world and believes the purity of their hearts is a beautiful reminder of the good around us. Their kindness, curiosity, and genuine joy inspire her daily and make life feel simpler and more meaningful. She looks forward to continuing to support her students and families with love, patience, and care.
Maggie Wilner
Aftercare
Ms. Maggie is a beloved member of the Temple Shalom Preschool family and is affectionately known as our resident Bubbe! With her warm heart, caring nature, and wealth of experience, she brings comfort, wisdom, and support to both students and staff each day.
Ms. Maggie earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She has nearly 15 years of experience in early childhood education, including more than eight years as a lead teacher. For over a year, she has been an invaluable part of our aftercare program, helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children as they end their school day.
Ms. Maggie is certified in CPR and First Aid and is currently completing her required DCF training hours.
Families appreciate Ms. Maggie's caring and rational approach to working with children. She has a special ability to help children feel safe, heard, and understood while guiding them with patience, kindness, and consistency. Her calm presence and thoughtful perspective make her a trusted and valued member of the TSP community.
Ms. Maggie loves building meaningful relationships with children and helping them develop confidence, independence, and strong social-emotional skills. She looks forward to continuing to support our students and families while bringing a little extra Bubbe love to Temple Shalom Preschool each day. 💙🌟💕

Ms. Rachel is excited to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! She brings three years of experience working with both preschool and elementary-aged students and loves helping children learn, grow, and build confidence in a positive environment.
An exceptional student and member of the National English Honor Society, Ms. Rachel has a strong passion for learning and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with the children she works with each day.
What Ms. Rachel loves most about working with children is not just teaching them, but truly engaging with them. She enjoys participating in activities right alongside her students, helping create meaningful connections and making learning even more fun. Her energetic and hands-on approach helps children feel comfortable, excited, and eager to participate throughout the day.

McClain Raynor

Ms. McClain is excited to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! Although she is early in her career with one year of experience in early childhood education, she has quickly proven herself to be a dedicated team member who is always eager to learn, grow, and lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. She has experience working with multiple age groups and enjoys building relationships with children of all ages.
Ms. McClain is a dual enrollment student enrolled in both Advanced Placement (AP) and AICE courses, demonstrating her strong commitment to academic excellence. She is also an active member of her school's volleyball team and the National Honor Society, where she has developed leadership, teamwork, and time management skills.
She has completed the required 45 DCF training hours and is committed to continuing her growth as an early childhood educator.
Ms. McClain enjoys reading, spending time at the beach, and hiking. She loves staying active and exploring the outdoors whenever she can.
Ms. McClain brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and caring personality to the classroom each day. Ruth Jimenez
Aftercare
Ms. Ruth brings a wealth of life experience, warmth, and enthusiasm to the Temple Shalom Preschool family. Originally from Colombia, she earned a degree in Hotel and Tourism before beginning an exciting career that took her around the world.
Before settling in the United States, Ms. Ruth worked as a cruise nanny for an Italian cruise line, caring for the children of passengers while traveling to destinations across the globe. She also spent a year living in Paris, where she worked as a nanny for a local family. These unique experiences helped shape her adaptable, compassionate approach to caring for children from many different backgrounds.
Ms. Ruth moved to the United States in 2003 and spent the next decade working in early childhood education in New Jersey. During that time, she earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and later completed the required 45 DCF training hours after relocating to Florida. Her years of experience have given her the skills and confidence to support children through every stage of their early learning journey.
At Temple Shalom Preschool, Ms. Ruth primarily works with our Lions and VPK students, helping prepare them for kindergarten while encouraging independence, confidence, and a love of learning. She is also a true team player who is always willing to step into any classroom and support both students and fellow teachers wherever she is needed.
Ms. Ruth loves building meaningful relationships with children and helping them discover the world around them with curiosity and excitement. She is dedicated to creating a caring, engaging classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. She looks forward to partnering with families and making each school year a joyful and memorable experience. 💙🌟
Luna Galt

Ms. Luna is excited to be joining the Temple Shalom Preschool family this August! She brings three years of experience working with children and a positive, energetic attitude that makes her a wonderful addition to our team.
Ms. Luna is a dual enrollment student-athlete and a dedicated member of the National Honor Society. She is also actively involved with Best Buddies, an organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where she volunteers her time helping teens affected by Down syndrome build friendships and connections within their community.
As a volleyball player, Ms. Luna has developed strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. She is known for her excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
Families will quickly notice Ms. Luna's kind heart, positive attitude, and dedication to helping children learn and grow. She is passionate about creating a supportive environment where children feel encouraged, valued, and excited to participate each day.

Ana Rijo

Ms. Ana is proud to be part of the Temple Shalom Preschool family! With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, most of which has been spent as a lead teacher, she brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and dedication to the classroom. She is passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Ms. Ana earned her Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen University. She also holds both a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. In addition, she has completed the required 45 DCF training hours and is certified in CPR and First Aid.
Families appreciate Ms. Ana's ability to create a classroom environment that balances structure with fun. She brings a wonderful sense of humor to her teaching while maintaining the routines and consistency that help children feel secure and successful. Her students benefit from the best of both worlds—a classroom filled with laughter, learning, and clear expectations.
